You know. I think you are correct here.
It was a popular item anyway. Shapiro I believe had already worn that LAPD pin to court but not sure. Some women were wearing the pin now known as the Hillary pin (Albright, Reno and later even John McCain's wife during the 2000 election). Pins were the thing to show support for a moment in time there.
Then Denise wears that pin to testify and says it is Nicole's and it all got started that way.
