I am inclined to believe that the Blue Jean Jacket was a miscalculated attempt to implicate O.J. Another case of overkill.
O.J. had a Blue Jean Jacket. He wore it the night of the murders. The trouble is, (from a frame-up standpoint) he wore it to the airport.
My position has always been that the killer needed a lookout at Bundy and at Rockingham to keep track of what the principles in the murder/frame-up were doing so final plans could be adjusted accordingly. O.J. was inside when the thumps were made on Kato's wall (I say it was the Rockingham lookout) and the person who made those thumps couldn't afford to stick around for long after that. Thus, no idea that O.J. was wearing the jacket.
Kato would have been no help when Fuhrman interviewed him because he thought O.J. was wearing sweats. But after Fuhrman and Roberts searched O.J.'s bedroom they would have noticed that the jacket was missing. If it was a big deal to leave a jacket like his at Rockingham (remember Fuhrman's theory about the butcher knife on the counter in Nicole's kitchen) they would have been looking for it.
If the jacket disappeared before they searched O.J.'s home, it's a whole new ballgame. I confess, I do not know when the jacket disappeared relative to the time Fuhrman and Roberts searched O.J.'s bedroom. Does anyone else know? --Jasper
