Allita, Whether it is this cop or another, this shows that with this character and with Perez and his cohorts, the bank robber, and Brambles (the robber and serial rapist who favors Fuhrman) they had some mighty bad dudes running around under the "cover of authority" during that period of time.
Brambles who had been a Top Dog OCID guy with access to secret info on the rich and famous and ties to Madame Alex and Heidi and to the madame earlier---Elizabeth somebody or other is right in the thick of things.
It is even possible that people who swore Nicole met with Fuhrman throughout the spring were mistaken and it was Brambles. Brambles who may have been on the lookout for someone to take over the Madame industry from now ruined Heidi Fleiss.
Didn't he state that Elizabeth?, Madame Alex and Heidi were informants? That Nagy was an FBI informant. Oddly, his lawyer, Robert Shapiro got him totally off any charges connected with Heidi though he actually may have been running the business or a partner.
Was Fuhrman asked for an alibi (the only cop who was) because somebody had said someone who favored Fuhrman was seen in the neighborhood that night?
Did the blue jean jacket belong to Brambles? Or was someone AFRAID that it did and remove it?
What about Patti's frantic call to Ron on the morning of the 13th about her fear of something being wrong about Andrea's car? Had she been told it was stolen? Brambles was in car theft investigation.
We really need to find out exactly when in the spring this man retired. He was arrested and being held in court by July 6th of 1994 but as Allita has pointed out that as much as a week or more can go by before these stories appear in the LA Times.
This new guy that is told about--the former Rampart guy is named by Perez, is named in a bogus shooting on duty, he is under suspicion for another off-duty murder and he is STILL on the JOB when arrested in San Francisco buying Cocaine? What's wrong with this picture?
