Odd that you should mention the burned blood of killed things because in the book I was reading, they had that too and mentioned it WAS worse than the regular smell of blood.
And as you say it (the smell of either) gets in the nose, the hair, the clothing of the person.
I was reading where the detectives would put VIcks in their noses in order to go around the bodies and that didn't help all that much. Without it, they couldn't stand to be there at all.
About mentioning it, I am sure Jasper is correct to a point---however, we are talking about speaking to each other.
It was brought up in the books when they were checking out the house say of a suspected victim. The person had not been seen and was suspected of being the latest victim. As they approached the house and opened the door, the smell of the blood struck them and they commented on it.
Or when they approached a barn where the suspected victim was and they were in pairs, they commented that unfortunately, they smelled blood.
I was not speaking of them having long lengthy conversations about it or speak of it after the fact but in the "detecting" stage which Riske was certainly in when he was told a body was there.
