Jasper, This is SO true.
Think of EVERYTIME there is a big case--an assassination or a bombing---you can COUNT on the "lone gunman" theory. Without fail. Especially if there is some government involvement or blame to affix to the situation.
JFK, RFK, King, Wallace, Okla City Bombing and more.
That is just one example--one we are ALL familiar with.
Another is the recent case in England where they got a match of DNA and they had to go further to get to the real culprit. No apology to the suspect who did not do it. This was a robbery yet the man they suspected had Parkinson disease, didn't drive and lived 200 miles away. The letter he did get clearing him basically said, "we just couldn't prove it".
Also the release this week in CA of a guy for wrongful conviction of murders. Even one of the victims described the killers as average in height, weight, etc. The guy convicted weighed 425 lbs at the time.
It shows once the cops and DA's get a bone in their mouth over some case (no matter how ridiculous) they will fight to the death over it.
The DA's in the last case claim they weren't wrong. Why? Because this guy is a convicted murderer. Huh?
Another example is the Robert Blake case. Until they were embarrassed into looking into it, they were going to IGNORE this wife of his had pissed off thousands of people her entire life. That she had lied, committed fraud, extorted money and generally made enough people mad at her to fill a large room.
Another example, the missing intern. They are all over this Congressman from CA rather than admitting that she is the 5th young woman to come up missing from the same area in less than 2 years.
Of course someone who is familiar how these cases go and how they are done---would be able to set it up to perfection.
