Through rereading both detective's books (Evidence Dismissed and Brentwood) and Dr. Lee's book, I discovered that the blood drop trail at Rockingham went right to the driver's side door of the Bronco.
Yet, Vannatter claims he found it an hour later (about 6:40) and Fuhrman even later about 7:10 with Roberts.
We have discussed how BAdly MF wanted probable cause and found the blood on the door that the size of the edge of a coin according to Lee.
Fuhrman claims he got on his hands and knees looking at the door, and all around, and he was shining his flashlight everywhere.
Well, this evening I did a little experiment. I went outside at 10:30 at night with a package of catsup and opened it and flung it all around on asphalt, concrete and the street. I took my small flashlight (smaller than the cop version) and shined it around. I had NO trouble seeing it or anything else for that matter (oil, water, etc.) on the surfaces.
It is NOT believable that the cops did NOT see a blood trail BESIDE the vehicle that morning at 5:30 if they did the searching that they claimed to have done. Being a logical person myself and MF claims to be a VERY logical person--if you have blood on the door of the vehicle and you believe that someone is bleeding or is dropping blood, you would look on the ground. MF claims he thought the blood had dripped down or scuffed off of a shoe on the door so the most natural thing in the world is to shine your handy dandy flashlight onto the ground below that area.
Since the blood drops do NOT appear to anybody until AFTER Lange has called the Chicago hotel and talked to the desk clerk who bandaged OJ"s hand, I believe it entirely possible that the blood trail was not conceived until after that time.
Fuhrman remarks that to his knowledge nobody had gone IN the UNLOCKED gate at Rockingham until he and Roberts do. He says nothing about anybody going OUT it.
The trail may have all the "markings' of being from the front door TO the Bronco but that is the way it was LAID down....by a person walking from the front door to the Bronco.
And guess what guys? If you look at the overhead photo of the Rockingham estate, you will see a nice BIG streetlight right across from where the Bronco was.
I don't think the blood trail at Bundy showed up til Lange talked to the hotel clerk either. MF claims to have written down what Riske told him and what he observed YET no blood drop trail or even a single blood drop is mentioned in his notes.
It is noted in the ED book that Lange called the hotel Prior to 7AM. He doesn't mention what the hotel clerk said except that OJ had checked out. HOwever, if you recall she made a proffer in order to what she would testify to and she said she told the cop who called about the cut and bandaging it and how rude OJ was checking out and that she was mad.
Vannatter had Fung arriving at Rockingham at 7:10. Fuhrman has him arriving at 8 when he is next door talking to Rosa Lopez.
The BIGGEST area of dispute in the timeline in that book is between 6:30 and 8:00.
Riske has MF having the glove photo done at 6:30 or 6:35. V & L have it being down prior to 7 or 7ish. MF says he didn't even get back to Bundy til between 7 and 7:15 and the photo was close to 7:30. (a time, btw, that Vannatter has the drops found and Fung arriving and MF back at Rockingham).
Something is very wrong here. And I think I know what it is. Based on that call by Lange to Chicago (made about the time he asks the coroner not to come yet) blooddrops and perhaps a glove are found.
