You are so right, Jean, OJ's worst crime was that he was color blind. He didn't move into a white neighbourhood because he wanted to be white, he did it because he could afford it. He married Nicole because he fell in love with her, not because she was white. And that to me is the way it should be. Race should have no say in what you do and how you live your life.
Prejudice is everywhere, most often in subtle ways, always in ignorant people. I am Swedish, and when I came to North America I was stunned that so many men thought that therefore I was "easy", it was very uncomfortable. I am not saying that I therefore understand racism, but I do understand the feeling that it is not who you are that matters, but who you are concieved to be. And I think that is rather universal.
Now I live in South America and am met with another type of prejudice (there are many more than 2). We are Gringos to the people here and I find that I have to prove myself to not be that stereotype every day.
