Now I don't think anybody much less a police could resist sticking a hand in the bath water to see if hot or cold. Now the question is why not say? Now it could have just been Sidney taking a bath with mom's bubble bath and candles as a treat after doing well at the recital. Now if Nicole why did she have her dress back on? Or was the water warm enought to say the water had not been there long? Or did they just not say to confuse the issue?
Now the easiest way to decide what car might be Ron's was to ask the neighbors what cars did not belong there. The old man across the street and elderly woman were probably still awake watching the action. Or they could have waken someone near by. But it would have been very hard to know for sure. Unless the keys Ron had fit it. Since it would be registered to someone out of town. But no one noticing a red car, is suspecious at best. Heistra should have noticed it. He probably knew all the cars that parked there. Schwab should have walked past it. The mail box guy should have noticed it. Now it would have been on the news before a lot of these people would have been grilled by police or DA's and at least one of them have said that they saw Ron's car. It should have showed up in some report someplace.
