While rereading Evidence Dismissed, I noticed repeated remarks about them not knowing about phone calls made at Nicole's or at OJ's that were local calls that were not toll calls (another area code). They stated they didn't know when or if OJ really called Sydney that night. Said it was not on his cell phone and if it was on his home phone they had no way of telling.
Then on Page 243 (Endnote 119) it states:
Cellular phone records showed that Simpson called her (Paula) at 2;12, 2;13, 2:22 (twice), 2;23 and 2:24pm: eight times during the course of the day of the murders, not including the times he may have called her from the phones inside his home. (The telephone company does not keep records of local calls, other than those made with a cellular phone.)
THIS is a BIG FAT LIE. Sure ordinarily they don't. BUT there is a phone dump that is quite common procedure by the phone company for the police department.
I have mentioned this before but we have some new posters.
My sister, a GTE/Verizon, employee for years, moved to Florida in 94 and was there for the 95 trial. She told me that prior to moving to Florida for a different job, she had done this HERSELF. That it took a long time (downloading) but that it was really quite easy to do. It will kick out ALL calls (local, etc.). It records ALL incoming and outgoing calls, and it will even note when a call has been attempted but did not connect (no answer) going in and going out.
She volunteered this info. We were discussing the trial (she is not an OJ supporter) but quite quickly pointed out that the fact that they didn't have these calls was a crock.
Prien has also found NY police officers who say the same. Said it is done ALL the time. Easy to do. They they know how to do it themselves. That most cops do that are detectives (or less).
Just about a couple weeks ago, I watch a cable tv show that tells of real life cases. It showed where they had gotten his phone records (during the investigation not after the arrest) and discovered that he called his uncle (across town on local number) directly after the time he was alleged to have killed his wife at home. They tracked this guy with these phone records.
They showed the list. It was not like a phone bill but like a computer printout (entire page) of calls.
I believe since this is mentioned repeatedly in the book with a totally false statement/claim about the calls, this was deliberate.
I believe that they DID do it. If not, they are too stupid to live. It would have been a tool to "get" OJ if they would have certainly used. They would have looked for a 10PM call from OJ to Nic or harassing calls, etc.
It could have shown the last call that NIc made and the last calls made to her. It could have tracked OJ's activities.
As a matter of fact, a dump like this for the week prior to her death would have been the thing to do. Her phone, Ron's and OJ"s if not others.
Believe me!! If these calls showed that Nic received no calls past 10:15 or made none or showed the scenario that the DA's were pushing--we WOULD have seen them.
I personally believe it was done--and did not show what they wanted it to and it was hidden. This is misconduct of major porportions.
If they DIDN"T do this---they are too stupid to BE Detectives of Podunk City much less Los Angeles. charlie
