Kari, This is true but those pagers are in connection with their jobs. The people who had them usually needed to be in constant contact with their job or some place for a reason.

As Prien pointed out to me this was the tool of choice at the time (before cell phones got so widespread) for drug dealers and others who could get a message and then pick the time and place (usually a pay phone) to call someone back.

What I was meaning about Ron carrying it is that he must have been expecting a call (perhaps from Tanner) or he would not have carried it for a couple minute stop to hand Nic an envelope. Or that he expected to be at Nic's more than a couple of minutes and that if he got a page there, he would use her phone.

I have also seen workers who do deliveries or who are house painters, or plumbers or other things have these so the main company can keep in contact or their families can call and leave a message as they travel all over town.

I know before cell phones got so big in use, actors and actresses used them so their agents could contact them at any time with job offers or interviews.

I am just stating that Ron would have had a compelling need to have one of these for some reason. In 94, for a guy living hand to mouth as a waiter, it was a pretty expensive "toy". They were much more expensive and complicated then than they are now.

He may have had it in connection with his Design Wrap party business or his giving tennis lessons or other "jobs' he did.

He was not the actor or model we were told he was (no SAG card and only one modeling job in his life) that at the time was a partial cover for having this beeper.

And the original beepers did not just clip on either or not many of them did.
