Thumps: Could it be that the Fence post found was used to make the thumps to check to see if anyone was there without the need to enter compound--.
If someone is there, and they investigate, good, they'll find glove. Not there, a reason will need to be found to walk around and find glove. Kato provides reason, on interview, when he mentions the thumps.
Seems simple. Kato was reluctant to go investigate, so he heads out to ask the limo driver if they'd had an earthquake(?) Per your theory, this is the same person who carried out the cold-blooded murder of two healthy and much more courageous individuals(?)
Even Dick's theory makes more sense. The person who interviewed Kato and Rosa found the glove because he put it there.
