We agree that the person who put Wasz up to stealing Paula's SUV wanted he to see it. But it had everything to do with the murders. Nicole's move from Gretna Green to Bundy, Wasz's theft of Paula's car, his stalking of Nicole and the drunk driving arrest of Denise Brown with Ron Shipp and Faye Resnick as passengers in the car all happened in January of '92.
This is an example of a hole in my theory getting filled in by the facts….
Long before I every heard of William Wasz and the theft of Paula Barbiari's Toyota SUV, I worked out a scenario that would work ONLY if someone like Wasz existed and was part of the plan and if Faye, Shipp and Denise were working with Fuhrman. I didn't know about the drink driving arrest then, either, or the move from Gretna Green. I didn't know when Nicole moved to Bundy.
All I had to work with were the crime scene photos and the autopsy reports that suggested a military hit. The trouble was, an operation like that would involve a great deal of preparation, a lookout at Bundy and Rockingham and a dress rehearsal. The Bret Cantor murder in July of '93 fit all of the qualifications for a dress rehearsal. I didn't know about that, either. But when I learned about it, that gap in time between his murder and the Bundy murders was just too great. The ideal time frame would have been long enough to be disassociated form the Canter case but close enough to us the intelligence gathered from the dress rehearsal. Only the killer would know fore sure, but eleven months seemed too long. Around six months would have been more like it unless something when wrong.
It looks to me like two things when wrong: 1) Nicole moved to Bundy. 2) Wasz figured out he was a dead man if he didn't run or get himself put in prison. I think he may have gotten caught with the SUV and the book on purpose until he could figure out a way to convince the killer that he was more valuable to him alive than dead. His Kardashian story makes him Mark Fuhrman's best friend. -- Jasper
