You KNOW that the media part of the story jumped out at me like a Jack-in-the-box.
What the LA Times reporters did was to report the story exactly opposite to the way it was reported to them and then to lable the source (an honest cop) a "disgruntled" former policeman and a liar. This sort of thing happens with alaming frequency on a wide range of contoversial subjects that the news media involved are editorially opposed to. I no longer write letters to the editor about "war and peace" issues because every one I have ever written was edited for publication to say something I didn't say, don't agree with and argued against. I don't know whether this is because the editors got the message wrong or deliberatly changed it to be more in keeping with their vision of the kind of people who wrote the kinds of things I did. In any event, the TIMES reportes' false report and their failure to correct it DOES make them a party to the frame-ups. You nailed that one solidly. I wonder if they reaized that simple fact before or after they wrote the story. They can't be so blind to the truth as to have never seen it at all. --Jasper
