You have to remember that Parks was high up in the LAPD under Gates. Seems like about 20 years or so ago, that some of those in power realized that they were going to need some "show blacks" to hood wink the public and started grooming blacks that were going to toe the party line. They put them out in frount and hide the "Jaspers" of the world. Taken a while, but I am catching on here.
