Now I can't walk in Jaspers shoes. so I will go the other way. I knew one couple who were obviously in love, met each other at work and did not plan to fall in love, but just did. Had nothing to do with race. The only thing that did have to do with race is that they had to be stronger in their bond as a couple, because of all the negetive behavior toward them. Neat people.
when I was working with teen age white girls, they had this almost fad thing of dating black guys.
Most people marry for various reasons. A person belives that the other will supply their emotional, financial or sexual needs. Or we see in the other what we might feel is missing in ourselves. Or have a lot in common in some way. Sometimes it is to get ahead. Marrying up, so to speak.
I would say that there are as many reasons for marring between races as marrying in side a race. In the younger people, I am sure that some of it is rebellion. But mostly, just chemisty and love.
Any one who is out only for themselves, when in a power position, is abhorent to me. This is the way I see Thomas.
