Another thing to consider is that the criminal trial jury was sequestered, and tbe civil trial jury was not. This meant that, even if the civil trial jurors made good-faith attempts to avoid all the media garbage -- which they did not, of course -- they were still inevitably bombarded by other sources of "evidence' in the case, not to mention their pre-existing impressions from the media coverage of the criminal trial.
I can prove that it was the civil, not the criminal, trial jury that lacked understanding of the evidence.
the civil trial was a legal lynching. It's what the White community does instead of rioting when a high profile case doesn't go its way.
