I think the article may have meant the consolebetween the seats instead of glove compartment. Maybe the quote came from a Brit who did not know what to call the console.

This article says, among other things, that it appears that on the first go around the blood on the console was only OJ's but by the time the trial took place it suddenly became a mixture of OJ's, Ron's, and Nicole's.
