People wonder why this case still is on the radar screen after 6 years and every significant move of any of the primaries is still being reported.
Even if it is only known sub conciously, this case is a mico cosium of all the nagging things wrong with society in general.
Those things that most keep wanting to bury so they won't have to face or have to deal with, but things that just won't stay burried.
Charlie points out a few of the lies that Fuhrman told in that one interview. Then she asks the question of why no one points this out.
Every day in the media, I see contridictions and lies. Some small and some so big that they will some day effect all of us in some way of another. this is particularly true in the political season. No one is insisting on the truth. The lies are just being blown off, as mistakes, or thats politics, or compunding the lies in defending them. But they get away with it. Very few are confrounting them except the political opposition, so who do you believe. And no it is not as simple as "I did not have sex with that woman". It is rampant in all political parties, things that really matter, not in the presidents bedroom, but in our own homes, families and work.
So what does this do. It means that there is no trust left. It means sticking your head in the sand and feeling the inferiority that cowards feel. When there is no trust, then there is only fear left in its place. Fear breeds all the hatred against those who don't happen to be just "like us", in race, creed, sexuality, and income.
Until we as a socity decide that lying is wrong and has consequencies, even just consquencies of dislike. we will continue to have all the problems that the trial of OJ exemplify. Demanding truth would cure most of the nations problems and the solving of the OJ case may very well just wake up the citizens to what they have allowed the country to become. What happened in the OJ case is that the biggest lierers were the one's who reaped the greatist reward, instead of being the most condemed. Fuhrman is not condemed for lying, he is only condemed for not getting by with it.
I hate to say it, but the future of the country belongs in our few hands, the ones seeking the truth and beating our heads against the wall attempting to get the attention of the majority.
