John,
We all know how smart you are but sometimes I think you forget that the rest of us here are just as smart as you are. If I read your post wrong I apologize.
The mix-up about the garage may have come from where O.J. was when he saw Kato. He saw him coming from the area of the garage. That's where Kato had just come from-from the pathway next to the garage. That's how I read Kari's message. Maybe I read that wrong, too.
Anyhow, I think we have to be careful about strict interpretations of what people say without full consideration of the context.
In the Radio interview that goes with Keith's slide show, you will hear me say three things that are obviously wrong (two of them are in part 3, which you haven't heard yet). That's one of the reasons I wanted to run that interview without editing. It wasn't my best or my worst but one of the points it makes clearly is what I've been knocking myself out on the boards trying to say about the testimony of various people in the criminal trial. You all know me well enough to figure out what I intended to say when some really dumb thing slipped out of my mouth. I realized when had miss-stepped as soon as I did it, but in radio you have to keep on stepping and trust that your audience will pick up on what you meant to say.
The point I tried to make with the testimony of the Mezzaluna employees, Steven Schwab, Eva Stein and some of the others is that if you look for it you can see not only what the mistake is but where it came from. For instance, If you listen closely to my interview tape you can tell that I was having a lot of "blank-outs." You can tell that I was frequently stalling for time until I could think of something that made sense to complete a sentence or a thought without the word, the name, the phrase or the date that just wouldn't come. Still, you can tell that I have a good grasp of the subject, that I'm not an idiot and that I am not trying to deceive anyone. You can SEE what I was seeing when I spoke and you can put the right words in the right place even if I couldn't.
Try it, John. I think you will find it a fascinating exercise and an informative one as well. --Jasper
