Please forgive me for taking so long to get back to you. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your kindness and encouragement. I have gotten nothing from O.J. Not one word.
Point a: Mark Fuhrman's blood type, Nicole's robe and a man with "oriental eyes ---
I, too, would like to know Mark Fuhrman's blood type. There was some confusion about the blood type under Nicoles fingernails - but no confusion over the fact that it didn't belong to O.J. Nicole was photographed laying on her left side with the tips of her fingers away for the pool of blood. From the soiled condition of her right thy and the ideal positioning of her body from an artistic composition point of view and from the point of view of someone seeking to hide a second set of shoeprints with blood flowing from her neck, I'd say her body was moved. That means her fingers could have been in her blood (AB-) beforehand and the sample wasn't good enough to give a true reading (B). Also, a cut on her hand might conceivably have resulted in some of her blood getting under her blood getting trapped under her nails. I can even accept the possibility that her AB- blood was so degraded that it appeared to be type-B.
What bothers me is the fact that no one else's blood type was taken; not Marcus Allen's, not Kato's, not Jason's, not AC's and certainly not Fuhrman's or Roberts'. What bothers me about Fuhrman - the body builder and the braggart - is why his arms were always covered. Why didn't he show off those magnificent arms?
I can't help you much with the stories about the man embracing Nicole. Everything I know is hearsay and contradictory. From everything I could gather the man was Marcus Allen. He drove a white SUV and he had a bodyguard. But one of the witnessed described the bodyguard as a large black man. Tom Lange (not the detective) described the may by the SUV as a white man of medium height. There isn't much you can do with a discrepancy like that without more information. You may want to try Donald Freed's A Problem of Evidence. He knows more about it than I do. I hope to be talking to him soon. I'll ask.
I am intrigued by your observation about Brad Roberts' eyes.
Point b: The robe, Denise, squatting woman -- The robe doesn't bother me. The dress Nicole was wearing could have been misidentified as a robe. The fly in that ointment is the fact that some reports say it was a white robe and some say it was black. I don't believe the second witness was ever identified. No transcripts that I know of are available check the original source.
Denise was supposedly in Monarch Bay at the time, some 80 mile away. But we discovered on this board (as you will be able to see when we can restore the archives) that there is a big question as to whether or not she could have been in Jeep with her father and mother, Dominique and the kids. Denise in a blond wig could explain a lot of things. It certainly explains how the "beating" photo of Nicole that was taken by her father in 1979 ended up in Nicole's safe deposit box. Denise said that she took the picture after O.J. beat her up in 1989 (O.J. did not beat her up in '79 or '89).
The Hispanic or Caucasian woman squatting down in front of Nicole's condo is a variation of a story that says the person was a Caucasian man - which is a variation of the story that says it was an Asian woman. The defense had to sort through 25, 000 reports like that making it extremely difficult to get anything done. Pat McKenna was convinced that most of those reports came from the prosecution to achieve just that end. I am convinced that at least some of them came from Mark Fuhrman. They match his MO and the killer's MO, giving O.J.'s defenders so may attractive leads to follow that they couldn't get on the right track and couldn't get off the wrong ones. That's what red herring are for.
Point c: Nicole's bike - I didn't know it was missing? What can you tell me about that?
Point d: Time of death, 9:42 phone call, Mandel and Aaronson - I am certain that Nicole and Ron were killed shortly after Nicole's last phone conversation with her mother. I am also certain that that last conversation took place between 10:17 and 10:28 and that Ron and Nicole were attacked no more that one-second apart. Marcia Clark invented a 9:42 phone call from Juditha to Nicole to explain why Ron picked up the glasses. There are records of only two calls that Juditha made after she left Mezzaluna. The first call was to Karen Crawford at 9:37 to tell her that she had lost the glasses - the call could not have been made from home because it would have taken anther half hour at least from that point for her to get home. The second call was made from her home phone at 10:17. The prosecution and the defense both sat on the records, which proved Nicole was alive at the time Marcia Clark was insisting that she was dead.
Mark Fuhrman argued for a flexible timeline an puts 10:00 as his favorite time for the killing. There are at least four pieces of planted evidence pointing to the kill time you suggested. If you want to show that any given theory is correct there is one or two you can use. If you want to systematically eliminate the phonies you can do that, too. That's what I did in Iago.
The more I look at it the more it appears to me that the defense was sandbagging for the final arguments and simply forgot what they had or never got around to looking at it because they were chasing so may red herrings. I am familiar with the silent kill technique that was used on Ron and Nicole, which was clear me from the blunt force wounds on the back of Ron and Nicole's scalps and a few other indications of a killer with basic combat infantry training. All soldiers and marines receive basic infantry training. Mark Fuhrman was a marine. The kill should not have taken more than a few seconds. The time between when the first dog started barking and the "Hey! Hey! Hey!" tells me that a second person did enter the kill zone and was, as you said ( and I say in Iago), "stepping where he shouldn't have been stepping." You don't have a fifteen or twenty-second argument with someone who slit your throat four of five minutes earlier and is still in the process of killing you slowly. You don't argue with someone who just happened on the scene. You argue with a partner who you think is jeopardizing something important, someone who is not following the script you agreed on.
If the killing was over when Mandel and Aaronson waked past, the smell of that much blood would have stopped them (you can trust me on this one). Had Seven Schwab been on that side of the street he would have smelled it, too. The only blood prints going south on Bundy were Kato the dog's pawprints.
Point e: I don't think Kato had any knowledge of the plant. One of the things that hung me up originally was the artificial nature of the sound Kato described and the fact that Rosa Lopez and Rachel Ferrara didn't report hearing it. Like John, I thought that Kato invented the thumps. But when I saw what a terrific patsy Ron Shipp made for a lone killer scenario it dawned on me that the Shipp must have had some involvement in the killing. And when I followed through on hat idea I found that he was the perfect candidate to make the thumps - and to do it in such a way that it would make Kato sound like a liar. That would have given Shipp the opportunity to make Kato the patsy.
Nobody asked either Rachel or Rosa whether they heard the thumps so we don't know whether they did or not. I'm only guessing here, but my guess is they didn't. If they did Kato's story would have had independent corroboration, which would have defeated the purpose of trying to make him sound like a liar. I'm also guessing that Kato was listening to music and his the volume cranked up pretty high. Remember, he didn't hear the voices at 12:00 that Rosa Lopez heard. The difference could be as simple as what they were paying attention to at the time. Rosa was frightened because of the man she heard walking up the drive earlier as soon as O.J. and Kato left for McDonalds. She felt safe when O.J. came back. She was frightened again when he left for the airport.
Point f: Why didn't Rosa Lopez hear the thumps if they were so loud? -- I believe that the key to the mystery of the thumps lies in the shaky walls of Kato's bungalow (inside knowledge) and the huge banging EFFECT you can have on a wall like that without a corresponding sound simply by giving it a hard short jab with a padded object. A padded baseball bat or golf club handle or even the palm of your hand would do it. The person next to the wall would hear the thump and feel the bang but it's not likely that Rachel or Rosa would have unless they were listening for it. Kato described the same sound as "a bang" (singular) and thumps (plural). There is no contradiction in those statements if he felt and bank had heard three thumps. Regardless of whether anyone believed Kato's story it would have given any cop who heard it an excuse to go check. Of course the cop had to ask the right question and he had to keep Kato occupied with something else before he could tell anyone else. Fuhrman kept Kato busy with a sobriety test while the other detectives were busy talking to Arnelle, the only person in the house who mattered as far as what they knew at that point. The test not only kept Kato quiet while the other detectives were there, it gave him an excuse to stay behind when they left.
Point g: Ron, Glass, Fuhrman the hired hitman - Working on The Smoking Gun and The Smoking Gun 2 has been like waking around in Fuhrman's brain, following neuron to neuron like interstate highways. I know how he thinks. I'm pretty sure that he has killed a lot of people in California and maybe one or two in Nevada. I would not be surprised to find that he was on the secret payroll of some secret government agency, a crime family or both. But I am 100 percent sure that Ron and Nicole were a package deal, and Ron was carefully selected partly because of his stepmother's relationship to Glass to give O.J.'s defenders another red herring to chase.
I hope you will try to follow what I'm doing with The Smoking Gun books I'm working on and the links between the Bundy murders and television and the movies. The work tells me that Ron and Nicole were assassinated - murdered to achieve a political end. It tell me that in movies as divers as Blazing Saddles and The Hotel New Hampshire that feature German female characters or actresses with black men. It also tells me that Fuhrman was following a formula for personal success and aggrandizement. My work on Iago told me that Fuhrman was obsessed with O.J. Simpson as a symbol of interracial sex and by robbing Nicole of her life and O.J. of his good name he could accomplish two big things at once. He could strike a blow for Arian purity that would be felt throughout the North American continent for decades to come and make himself a hero to his "race." --Jasper
