If you go back to the time of the verdict, every TV pundent was saying guilty or hung jury. I would bet that Kar. was hoping for a hung jury. Then when he found that they had reached a verdict then he was sure it was a guilty verdict. You also got to realize the utter strees and emotions going on, I think it was just utter surprize. Kinda like breaking down in tears and boo hooing like there has been a death, when something surpzingly joyful happens. I would want to see him 10 minutes later and see his expression then after the burst of emotion.
