That was quite a revelation about Willwerth writing the entire book. As you noted, the tone and quality of the civil trial section credited to him - not to mention the irrational shift of focus -- was clearly the product of forces other than a search for truth. They look like they were written by two different people. I agree with your analysis of what happened. Either he was pressured by somebody or some thing at the last minute to make the switch. Maybe it was both. It has all the earmarks of a rush job AND an answer to the demands of a superior authority.
Your analysis of the pre-publicity vs. the realty of the book was brilliant. Grodin could not have been talking about the book as it actually is - except for the section on the civil trial. It could be that the pre-publicity is what forced the last-minute change.
I appreciate your kind words about "chairing this panel," but I don't quite know how to respond. As you will see this board and all the other boards for whatever anyone wants to talk about, is pretty self-regulating. The key was the quality of people who kicked it off and hung in there when it was a pain in the ass to use. For that you can thank Kari, Pat W, Gary, Bob, Keith, Charlotte, Sidney, Charlie, Kate, Allita, Prien, Jean and John. Now, it's our turn to thank you.
