Jean- My understanding is that it was a digital recorder. The tape was 10 hours because it started when Riccio turned it on just before OJ and the others came into the room and was left on until Riccio retrived it 10 hours later. Apparently, the cops kept him out of his room and actually rented the room next door for him to stay in while they were investigating. Riccio reports that Fromong and Beardsley were kept in the hallway.
