For some reason I couldn’t explain I had an inordinately difficult time remembering the name of the street where I found “a” Brad Roberts in my search for “the” Brad Roberts. The name of the street is Lanewood but every time I tried to say it or type it, the name “Lakeview” took its place. ……………I figured at first that it was because I had Lakeview on the brain from hearing the name and typing it so often when I was gathering information from Murderous Vision an putting it in the Smoking Gun 3. Both Lanewood and Lakeview had two syllables, the same number of letters and they both started with the same letter. Murder in Greenwich had so many things lifted straight from Murderous Vision AND from the word games I knew Fuhrman and Roberts played with Fuhrman’s fifth Bundy note that I thought these were the reasons I mixed up the street names. …………Although I never discounted those reasons because they were obviously correct – up to a point – the feeling that I was missing something important kept nagging at me. I tried as many things as I could think of to pin it down. In that process I was surprised to find myself looking at three baseball stadiums I never thought I’d see in my search for anything connected to Fuhrman and Roberts and a college football stadium with the same name as a Major League baseball stadium. ……….The biggest surprise was Wrigley Field in Chicago, the home of the Cubs. Turns out that the stadium is located in a neighborhood called Lakeview. It also turns out that the owner of the Cubs was the first owner of the Angels who named the Los Angeles stadium they played in after himself – Wrigley. Yes, the “doubchewing gum king had two Wrigley Fields. ……….All of that was extremely interesting and worthy of further investigation. However, these were things I didn’t know. To make the Lanewood/Lakeview connection in my mind Lakeview had to be much closer to Lanewood in my mind because of something I saw that was directly related to both of them. After more false starts I found it. Lakeview is an avenue inside of a cemetery about a mile southeast of Lanewood. http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocalMaps-g32655-d103418-Hollywood_Forever_Memorial_Park-Area.html http://www.seeing-stars.com/Buried2/HollywoodMemorial.shtml –Jasper
