Rovaan— THANK YOU! I thought those posts were lost forever. Reading them again brings back not only who said what and when but our sense of what we needed to do to uncover the truth. The earlier posts also give us a record of what we knew or thought we knew and why. Going back and fourth between the older and newer posts we can see our mistakes, track how our perceptions were either changed or reinforced by new information and what it took to get us to see things from each other’s point of view. We also get to see the prosecution, defense and media misinformation and disinformation we had to navigate to get a factual database to work with. …………..Another key benefit of being able to read the old posts is the wealth of information in some of them that we have simply forgotten we had and when we had it. We get to see how the discussion boards influenced the evolution of the entire site and the numerous obstacles we had to overcome just to keep the site alive. At different times it was different people in different ways. John Junot and Kari did it twice just by hanging in there when it appeared that Smartfellows was gone and never coming back. …………..What most people don’t know is how close we came to blinking out of existence and how often it happened before 2005 because of technical problems with our server – including episodes where our site and then our server were hacked. Since then, the “spammer” has been hard at work in a MASSIVE way to discourage participation on all of the discussion boards and to shut us down. Thanks to you, Rovaan, he (they) did not succeed. …………Visitors to the board need to know that your rescue of the 1999 board is only the latest thing you’ve done to rescue our whole site from our anonymous attacker. It’s an ongoing effort of immense proportions. I can never thank you enough for taking it on and doing such a magnificent job of whittling the problem down to a workable size. –Jasper
