I just did a search.
Eyes Wide Open: A Memoir of Stanley Kubrick by Frederick Raphel.
In the summaries, it describes Kubrick as an OBSESSED PERFECTIONIST who did scenes over and over as many as 100 times. He was also a control freak about his work.
