There is an innocent explanation for why Eyes hasn't posted before. The system is really screwed up. Even when it's working fine it's difficult for a new poster to figure out how to get in. You can see the attempts someone made with blank posts and the attempts that Eyes made earlier with his (or her) post about how to order the book (that's screwed up, too). Also many people look a long time before they leap and I can't blame anyone for that. But to know what color I am and to be able to speculate that my long absence from the board was because of something drastic, Eyes had to followed more than just one train of thought.
I want to make it clear that I am not saying Eyes Wide Open IS Mark Fuhrman. I agree with you there. I am simply intrigued by the similarities I find in Eyes Wide Open's writing style and Mark Fuhrman's. And I would love to know what accounts for it. One obvious thing that would account for it is if Eyes and Fuhrman were the same person. However, there is nothing to say that Fuhrman has a monopoly on writing the way he does as he did with the "errors" in his notes and in his first book. I just haven't seen it anywhere else.
It would not surprise me if Eyes was merely a BIG fan of Fuhrman who consciously or unconsciously (or some of both) borrowed his or her hero's identifying traits. Either way, the implications are enormous.
The thing I don't agree with you about is seeing "the SAME KIND of pattern in postings and e-mails from others who have 'problems.'" The difference is in words or the ideas but the "typos." It's impossible to draw a definitive conclusion from such a small sample of Eyes Wide Open's writing, but the typos I've seen "in the postings and e-mails from others with problems" all have the same kind of typos we make.
Typos you can expect are not ones that help the writer create a functional image. Real typos are random and accidental relative to the intended message. Sometimes a word gets misspelled. Sometimes a word gets left out. Letters get dropped or added so a word that should end in "s" doesn't or words that should end in "ed" or "ing" don't. Letters get misapplied so that "thing" becomes "think" or "an" becomes "and." A comma gets inserted in the wrong place. A sentence that should end with a period ends with a question mark. Homonyms like "they're" or "too" come out "there" and "to."
Eyes Wide Open is definitely a different kind of animal.
