The question is why this elaborate lie? As the first police on the scene it was his duty to make sure that one or the other was still alive. He would have normally walked up to them with as little messing of the crime scene as pollible but he would normally have steped in the blood. Couldn't have helped it if he was doing what he normally would do. The way Nicole was laying it would have been impossible to see the neck wound and did not know that that was her blood 100% so she would have had to be checked. Whey not just say he walked up to see if they were alive and his footprents were x prints. Why the elaborate, impossible lie???
