Comments CommanderBushey testified that he ORDERED the detectives (Fuhrman/Phillips) to go to Rockingham and do the death notification "as quickly as humanly possible". That call was made at 2.30 by Phillips. Fuhrman/Phillips were still in charge of the crime scene.
Is it likely or even possible that they didn't obey this command and actually elected to stand on the street corner and talk about who is going to pay for breakfast? I don't think so.
In MF's book this call happens after the Vanatter/Lange had arrived, after the walk through. And they immidiately went.
Another odd think is that Fuhrman according to his book wasn't sure how to get to Rockingham and asked Riske for directions even though his reason for coming along was that he had been there before and knew the way.
I love MF's last sentence in Chapter 2, about them leaving Bundy to go to Rockingham: "Although I didn't convey my thoughts to Ron, I knew our chances of breakfast at Coco's were gone."
I bet he did. I bet he knew that.
