Thanks for the new info. It's frustrating since all this would've otherwise been so easy to check.
What also supports the idea of a second trip was the fact that the third child (Sidney's guest) was not reported to have been with them by ice cream shop owner.
Only affect on timeline is the possibility that Ron was killed before Nicole got back.
Who knows.
