It's at times like these that I think I should do another animation - or get a nice, relaxing lobotomy.
The first thing has to do with the laws of probability. Jean, you have a better understanding of this than most people do. There is no end to the scenarios you can come up with using a few facts and a lot of imagination. But to do so, you have to attribute to coincidence ALL of the evidence that suggests a connection. The question here is not whether one or two events, like a man hearing the murders on Bundy and seeing the light-colored SUV five minutes later on Dorothy, must be related. The question is whether everything associating with the killings and the sighting that fit on the Heidstra timeline are likely to be unrelated. The answer is no. Some of them have to be related.
Traffic was light on Bundy, between 10:35, when Heidstra said he heard the Akita begin to bark and 10:45 when he said he saw the SUV on Dorothy. Dorothy was a side street so the odds are pretty steep that traffic on Dorothy was even lighter. The lighter the traffic the less likely that an uninvolved, light-colored SUV would be seen by anyone at that particular time coming from the direction that the killer had to have come from if he had left the murder scene by the ally heading south.
The bloody imprints of a smaller shoe than the BM Lorenzos with parallel lines on the envelope and other parts of the killing cage, puts another man inside of the gate with the killer. The dog's bloody pawprints going south on Bundy together with the vehicle Heidstra saw speeding south on Bundy before the SUV turned behind it strongly suggests some things about the man with the smaller shoes and the deeper voice. It suggests that he was the man in the southbound vehicle on Bundy. It suggests that his car was parked north of Bundy where Denise Pilnak, who lived south of Nicole's condo on the corner of Bundy and Dorothy, could not have had a good look at it when she was on her porch with her friend Judy at 10:24.
The length of the kills and several other facts tell me that the man in the other car was an observer who let the dog out of the front gate before the killer came in through the back and got impatient with the long wait. The killing should have been over in less than 20 second. The second set of bloody shoeprints plus the "Hey! Hey! Hey!" (the killer alarmed that his partner was stepping in blood) followed by the argument tell me that the observer interrupted the killer because he was taking so long.
I have no doubt that killer hollered "Hey! Hey! Hey!" and his lookout (smaller foot/ deeper voice/ skilled in covert surveillance/ trusted friend and "invisible" partner) is the one that Heidstra heard arguing with him. The second set of shoeprints, and the two men arguing tell me that second man went into the gate, came out the same way and got into a car parked close by. His vehicle had to have been parked north of the condo, facing south BEFORE the Akita went into the gate and got his paws bloody. That means someone had to have gone into the gate earlier (remember the missing key) to let the dog out (Heidstra thought the Akita was on the street). It explains why the dog's pawprints went south on Bundy… The dog was terrified and he thought the man who let him out of the gate was someone who might help.
The Heidstra timeline is anther matter. But to appreciate what I'm saying here you have to know why I put so much stock in the Heidstra timeline. You have to know why it makes me crazy when John ignores it and people like you are so quick to dismiss it in favor of an old grand conspiracy theory any interesting new idea that comes along. I've been though it a hundred times and frankly, the arguments against it are just plain wrong - and demonstrably so. But some of the best minds here just don't seem to get it. I'm not talking about a difference of opinion. I'm talking about a failure to communicate. Jean, you, Kari and Charlie have shown me again and again that you just don't get it.
I'm going to give it one more shot, so don't dismiss this until you've read it. Look for it in my nest post. --Jasper
